Day One: Making Mortars More Menacing

Posted by Tom Richter on September 2, 2008

I didn’t get a whole lot accomplished in the first day. Here’s a pretty crappy picture of my new improved Mortars. I’ll be building carriages for them to make them look transportable. My plan is to chop up an old as hell out of print Warhammer Fantasy Dwarf Anvil of Doom to make simple little carts to attach those more menacing beauties to.

Like I said previously, I never liked the Mortar model it really seemed too small to pack the range and distance it delivers. Now my opponents will learn to fear some respectable artillery pieces. Day two should see the completion of these bad boys and then it’ll be on to giving the Behemoth a make over.

Victim of my conversion.

Victim of my conversion.

Here’s a nice picture of the model I’ll be hacking to bits. I’m considering using the anvil as a base for something down the line, but it would require removing a lot of the details. Probably a waste of time, really what am I going to put standing on an anvil anyway?

I’d say leave the Anvil off for a cool base. Perhaps a small scene for your hammersmith

I hadn’t considered using it for anything other than Khador models. Might make an interesting base for a Hammersmith. Oddly enough I don’t own a Hammersmith.

I swear you used one on me once, unless it was a proxy.

I know I’ve proxied one a few times, but I never picked one up.
